BEFORE LEAVING ON HOLIDAYS

At Home

  • Check that your doors and windows are closed and locked up.

  • Do not bring blinds completely down.

  • Do not leave money or valuables.

  • Make a detailed list of your camera recorders, video and other machines with their serial numbers, to make their identification easier.

  • Do not turn the doorbell off. It is an unmistakable sign of absence.

With your neighbours

  • Do not tell anyone about your absence.

  • Only tell your closer friends or relatives where you can be located.

  • Leave a spare key to a trustworthy person, so he can periodically pop around and clear your letter box.

DURING YOUR HOLIDAYS

  • During the trip to your holiday destination, maximize security measures concerning your vehicle and belongings. Do not stop upon request of strangers.

  • Avoid leaving valuables inside your vehicle.

If you are using public transport

  • Do not check in luggage of unknown persons.

  • Identify clearly your belongings before doing the check in.

  • Avoid travelling with large amounts of money.

  • Do not allow anybody carry your luggage unless properly identified.

  • If you are travelling by train or bus, do not lose sight of your luggage, especially during intermediary stops.

IN THE CHOSEN PLACE

In the hotel or apartment.

  • Adopt the same security measures like those usually taken at home.

  • Keep your valuables, money and credit cards in a safe place.

  • When you are away, leave a radio turned on, or if it is at night, leave a light on.

In public spaces

  • Take good care of your handbag or wallet at crowded places (street markets, performances, etc).

  • Watch out for your personal belongings, mainly handbags, cameras, suitcases …

  • Take the relevant precautions to prevent handbags, jewels and other similar objects could be snatched away from you.

  • Don't flaunt your wealth or belongings.

IF YOU STAY AT HOME

Call the Police (091)

  • If you see suspicious people in the hallway or loitering around the street.

  • If you hear noises in an unoccupied house.

PLEASE ALWAYS REMEMBER

  • Do not give access to unknown persons into your building.

  • Always require the representatives of technical services (gas, electricity, water, etc) to produce their credentials and confirm them by telephone.
