Safe tourism video transcription II
The video begins with the official logo of Policia Nacional and music in the background. The words ‘Plan Turismo Seguro’ (Safe Tourism Plan) are then displayed around a globe with a picture of a suitcase and a plane.
First image. A police officer in the foreground and a woman in the background are walking down the escalators of the metro with her handbag backwards. Preventive advice begins. As they speak, subtitles appear on the footage.
The officer in the image says: ‘Keep your bag closed and facing forward when you are on public roads and on any means of transport’. As the officer gives the advice, the citizen coming down the stairs picks up her bag and moves it from the back to the front.
Second image. This one shows an officer in the foreground on the left and a citizen in the background waiting on the metro platform.
The officer in the picture says: ‘Avoid carrying valuables in your pockets. In any case, carry them in your front pockets’. During the narration of the advice, the citizen waiting on the platform is seen to take his wallet and move it from his back trouser pocket to his front pocket.
Third image. A female police officer reappears in the left foreground of the image as two citizens are waiting for the lift in an airport having left their suitcase out of sight.
The officer on this occasion advises: ‘During your holiday, always keep an eye on your belongings, paying special attention to your luggage when checking in at your hotel, public transport, stations and airports¨. As the officer gives the safety advice, one of the citizens in the image realises that he has left his suitcase behind while waiting for the lift and turns around to pick it up and place it in front of them both.
Fourth image. On this occasion, there is a vehicle parked on a public road and a citizen can be seen getting out of the driver's seat of the vehicle. He then goes to the back of the vehicle and takes some backpacks out of the seats and puts them in the boot. While this is happening, a female police officer appears on the scene narrating a new preventive tip.
The advice says: ‘If you are going to carry backpacks, suitcases or other objects in your vehicle, do not leave them in plain sight. Put them in the boot of your car’.
Fifth image. A hotel room is shown. The female police officer is in the foreground on the left side of the image. In the background, a woman is seen taking her belongings out of her handbag and putting them in the hotel room safe before leaving the room.
While this action is taking place, the officer says: ‘Make use of the hotel safe deposit box, rather than drawers or other compartments, to store your valuables and ID documents’.
Sixth image. A female police officer can be seen in the foreground and on the right of the image, on the public road. In the background there is an ATM machine which is being approached by a citizen with the intention of withdrawing money. The citizen moves her head to both sides to make sure that no one is nearby while the female police officer says: ‘When withdrawing money from the ATM, pay attention to the people around you, as they might use distraction and take your money’.
Séptima imagen. Seventh image. On a public road, a tourist takes selfies with her mobile phone in a town square and then posts them on social media. The female police officer, who is in the right foreground of the image, comments: ‘Remember to keep your privacy and not to post your holiday on social media while you are away from home’.
Eighth image. This image shows three citizens drinking coffee on the terrace of a restaurant with their belongings hanging on the backs of the chairs. The female police officer is in the left foreground of the image and has the following advice: ‘If you are in a restaurant or café, keep an eye on your mobile phone and wallet. Don't leave your backpack or handbag on the back of the chair’. While the safety advice is being given, one of the citizens sitting on the terrace can be seen taking the backpacks from the back of the chair and putting them between his legs. He also takes the mobile phone from the table and puts it in his pocket.
Final image. There is a police car in the background and a female officer in the foreground. She says: ‘In case of a crime, call 091’.
The same image changes to the foreground and the officer continues: ‘You can download the Alertcops application to get in touch via chat with one of our officers. And if you want to know more safety tips to make sure your holidays are free of incidents, visit our Website www.policia.es’..
The video finishes with the image of the official logo of the 200th anniversary of Policía Nacional.
